The Full Story

I was raised on the East Coast in a loving family that valued creativity and adventure. We traveled, visited museums and experienced different cultures while finding time to regularly camp, sail or comb beaches for driftwood, stones and shells. I was taught to appreciate nature and look for the positive side of life. As the daughter of an artist, I was encouraged to create as often as possible. I demonstrated clay sculpture with my mom at local art fairs to encourage other children to try. One year, a gentleman commissioned me to create a sculpture of his dog and I was so thrilled to do it! My first sale at 12 years old! Hopefully, he is still happy with my rendering from so many years ago. Ha. As I got older, I helped my mom hang art shows and work events learning that art is a fun, magical way to look at the world. I also noticed that everyone is a creative with a different voice and a gift to contribute.
As a young adult, I focused on making money and looked towards a different career. Happily, I met my husband then and we have 2 beautiful girls who are now grown and living life. Newly retired, I have time to refocus my efforts towards my first love of art. I have consciously surrounded myself with other creatives and feel that I am learning and challenging myself everyday. Now that we have moved to France, I have an airy studio in our apartment where I enjoy working on several projects at once. I am energized by that process and am thrilled to share that joy through my work. I hope that you will be touched and inspired by my art to find your own creative outlet.
